HODINKEE Radio Episode 70: Joshua Shapiro’s Handmade Watches

  |   Audio, Press

We’ve got a conversation that Jack had with independent watchmaker Joshua Shapiro when he was in New York City to lecture at the Horological Society of New York. If you’re not familiar with Shapiro’s work, you definitely need to check it out. He does old-school, craft-driven watchmaking that’s unlike anything else out there. His specialty is guilloché dial work, and he has even invented his own, brand new guilloché patter, called the “infinity weave.” As you’d expect, he and Jack get really into the weeds and their chat is a fun look at a part of the watchmaking industry that doesn’t often get much attention.

Shapiro’s interview starts at 00:46:40.
